Anistel Product Range from Tristel

Tristel launched the animal health range of products in June 2012 after ending the supply agreement with a distributor, for whom it had been manufacturing a portfolio of products since July 2009. This included high-level surface disinfectants, instrument cleaners, instrument disinfectants, hand hygiene products and odour eliminators. Best known amongst those was the disinfectant Trigene which Tristel has re-named Anistel.

SWIFT

SWIFT is the cheapest, fastest, most effective and fastest high-level disinfectant on the market. It is a high-level and sporicidal disinfectant solution designed specifically for use on large surface areas. It can be decanted into 1L dosing bottles using TANK, for application on small surface areas.  

SWIFT combines the powerful biocidal efficacy of chlorine dioxide with excellent cleaning action.

SWIFT incorporates two separate compartments that contain 50ml Tristel Base solution (citric acid) and 50ml Tristel Activator solution (sodium chlorite). When mixed upon bursting the sachet, Tristel’s proprietary chlorine dioxide chemistry is generated for dilution into five litres of water.

SWIFT is classified as a biocide under the EU Biocides Regulation.

TANK

TANK is a mixing station and distribution point for SWIFT, Tristel’s high-level disinfectant for surfaces in animal healthcare environments.

Using TANK is easy:

  • Take two SWIFT sachets.
  • Fold each sachet in half and squeeze one side to burst contents through the centre seal.
  • Pour five litres of water into TANK and pour in the contents of both SWIFT sachets.
  • Fill TANK with more water until the 10 litre marking is reached. Close the lid.
  • Use the tap on the front of TANK to decant SWIFT working solution into a bucket or into 1L dosing bottles.
  • Apply SWIFT to surfaces with a mop for floors or a cloth for damp dusting.
  • Leave surfaces to dry naturally to ensure a five-minute contact time.

When prepared in TANK, the shelf life of SWIFT working solution is extended. SWIFT is the cheapest, most effective and fastest high-level disinfectant on the market.

Microbiological Efficacy

SWIFT is sporicidal, mycobactericidal, virucidal, fungicidal and bactericidal in five minutes. Chlorine dioxide has been tested in accredited laboratories worldwide and is proven effective against a wide range of microorganisms, including:

  • Canine parvovirus
  • Feline calicivirus
  • Murine norovirus
  • Mycobacterium avium
  • Mycobacterium terrae
  • Proteus vulgaris
  • Candida albicans

Applications

SWIFT has been extensively tested for compatibility with numerous materials and surfaces. It is safe to use on most floors, walls, mattresses and stainless steel surfaces in:

  • Operating rooms
  • Isolation rooms
  • Reception areas
  • Treatment rooms
  • Abandoned animal shelters

SWIFT has been approved for disinfection of inanimate surfaces where an approved product is required to be used under the control legislation for the following specific disease(s) orders;

  • Foot-and-mouth disease at the dilution rate of one part of this preparation plus 50 parts of water;
  • Swine vesicular disease at the dilution rate of one part of this preparation plus 50 parts of water;

This approval is granted under the Diseases of Animals (Approved Disinfectants) Orders made by the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in England, Scottish ministers in Scotland and Welsh ministers in Wales.

FALCON

FALCON is a high-level disinfectant spray, designed specifically for use on small surface areas.

Based on Tristel’s proprietary chlorine dioxide chemistry, FALCON achieves high-level disinfection, including sporicidal efficacy, in short contact times.

FALCON incorporates two separate compartments that contain Tristel Base solution (citric acid) and Tristel Activator solution (sodium chlorite). When mixed upon pulling the FALCON trigger, Tristel’s proprietary chlorine dioxide chemistry is generated.

Microbiological Efficacy

Accessories

Tristel Dry Wipes are designed specifically to apply Tristel products evenly onto a surface to be disinfected. They are made of a non-woven material and are low-linting to reduce residue of fibres on surfaces. Tristel Dry Wipes are pre-cut to prevent shedding when dispensed from the tub. The use of Tristel Dry Wipes enhances cleaning and disinfection performance by allowing effective release of the liquid disinfectant onto the surface. A wall-bracket is available for increased ease of use.

ANISTEL SURFACE DISINFECTANT

Anistel is based on a blend of two quaternary ammonium compounds and a biguanide and is intended for the disinfection of surfaces in animal habitats.

Microbiological Efficacy

Anistel is effective against mycobacteria, viruses, fungi and bacteria at a dilution of 1:100:

  • Mycobacteria: EN14348 (Mycobacterium bovis, Mycobacterium terrae, Mycobacterium avium)
  • Viruses: EN14476 (Canine parvovirus, Adenovirus, Feline calicivirus, Hepatitis B, HIV, Coronavirus)
  • Fungi: EN1650, EN13697, EN13624 (Candida albicans, Microsporum spp., Trichophyton spp.)
  • Bacteria: EN1656, EN13727, EN1276, EN14561 (Bordatella bronchiseptica, Campylobacter jejuni, Escherichia coli, MRSA, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Rhodococcus equiStenotrophomonas maltophilia, MRSP, Campylobacter jejeni)

Applications

General conditions: Wash down floors, walls and unoccupied animal habitats with Anistel at a dilution of 1:200. Leave for five minutes.

High risk (PARVO/TB): Wash or wipe down all surfaces including worktops, sinks and animal housing (post/pre-occupation) with Anistel at a dilution of 1:100. Leave for 5 minutes for bacteria and yeast, 30 minutes for viruses, mycobacteria and fungi.

For airborne pathogens (e.g. Bordatella bronchiseptica – kennel cough): Use Anistel in a trigger spray at a 1:100 dilution from ceiling to floor. Leave for 5 minutes.

For bedding: Soak bedding in Anistel at a dilution of 1:100 for 20 minutes, then wash as normal.

Enzystel

Enzystel is a multiple-use instrument and equipment cleaner. It effectively dissolves and removes proteinaceous and organic matter, such as blood, saliva and mucus, from the surfaces of instruments and equipment.

Enzystel is CE marked as a Class I Medical Device.

Applications

For manual cleaning of instruments, including soaking in ultrasonic baths, dilute Enzystel at 1 part in 50 parts water (2%). Enzystel can also be diluted at 1 part in 100 parts water (1%) for use as a flushing solution in automatic reprocessing machines and other automated cleaning systems.

Medistel

Medistel is a high-level disinfectant for medical devices, based on quaternary ammonium compounds.

Medistel is CE marked as a Class IIb Medical Device.

Applications

Medistel is intended for the disinfection of both flexible and rigid endoscopes and surgical instruments. It combines efficacy with safety and rapid action. Medistel is primarily designed for open sink use but is also suitable for other medical apparatus including ultrasonic baths.

Airstel

A single-shot ready-to-use disinfectant designed for the bactericidal, fungicidal and virucidal disinfection of inaccessible surfaces. Its unique formulation incorporates a natural cinnamon oil extract which is especially effective against Aspergillus brasiliensis.

Airstel is intended to be used for terminal disinfection, following contact surface disinfection, to ensure airborne microorganisms are eliminated.

Airstel is effective against bacteria (EN 1276), fungi (EN 1650) and enveloped virusses (EN14476 against H1N1, surrogated flu virus for lipophilic viruses (Flu, Coronavirus, Ebola, Hepatitis, HIV)).
