GROUP FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT

We are seeking a Group Financial Accountant who will be responsible for assisting with the life cycle management of the finance function across three Group companies. Working closely with the Group Financial Controller, you will design and implement month end procedures to include period close deadlines and monthly balance sheet reconciliations. You will also ensure accurate and timely production of management accounts, monthly reporting, cash management as well as tax and statutory filing.

Responsibilities 

  • Preparation of daily bank reconciliations
  • Month end reporting and management of the month end close process and timelines
  • Perform month balance sheet reconciliations for review
  • Monthly posting and reconciliation of intercompany transactions
  • Assist in the management of working capital and cash flow
  • Prepare monthly/annual analysis of performance against budget
  • Review of monthly expenses, variance analysis and commentary provision
  • In conjunction with the Group Financial Controller, prepare monthly financial statements for inclusion in group monthly board pack
  • Completion of statistic office returns
  • Assist with group audit process and preparation of year end consolidation
  • Preparation of bi-monthly VAT returns for ROI company
  • Preparation of quarterly VAT returns for NI company
  • Preparation of monthly VIE’s & Intrastat returns
  • Ongoing review of existing processes and suggesting areas for improvement
  • Take the lead on process and system improvement projects
  • Ongoing management of group pension requirements

Key Capabilities Required 

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualification or part qualified essential
  • 3rd level qualification in accounting, business, or finance desired
  • Minimum of 3-5 years accounts experience, but this does not preclude someone with greater experience from applying
  • Experience of reporting and analysis
  • Proficiency in integrated accounts packages and Microsoft applications (particularly a high competency in Excel)
  • Excellent numeric, analytical skills and attentiveness to detail
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and other internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work diligently, accurately and under pressure
  • Ability to multi-task, skill in establishing priorities and managing workloads
  • Capable of working on your own initiative whilst keeping stakeholders informed through clear communications.
