Bio/Data Corporation

For over 40 years, Bio/Data Corporation has been a leading manufacturer and distributor of thrombosis, hemostasis, and platelet function products. Providing instruments, reagents, controls, accessories, customised software, and disposables to hospital, university, and clinical laboratories worldwide. Additionally, supplying products to research, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical laboratories. Because of their superb accuracy and reliability, their Platelet Aggregation Profilers have been repeatedly selected for significant clinical research studies.

BIO/DATA are singularly focused on creating instruments, technologies and reagents that provide medical professionals with reliable test results for assessing various stages of hemostasis and platelet function disorders, including von Willebrand Disease and Glanzmann’s Disease, and to monitor the use of anti-platelet drugs like Plavix® and aspirin.

Aggregation Instruments

With their extensive experience and knowledge about platelet function testing, Bio/Data Corporation has pioneered (LTA) Light Transmission Aggregometry for use in clinical settings. Beginning in 1974, Bio/Data Corporation developed and enhanced numerous aggregometer models. The PAP-8E, our current state of the art platelet aggregometer, is PC-controlled, offers 8 channels with standard micro-volumes, provides touch screen operation, procedure templates, and generates von Willebrand Factor (vWF), multipoint standard reference curves with ease.

To enhance the overall speed of sample preparation, our innovative PDQ®, Platelet Function Centrifuge is the ideal companion for the PAP-8E, platelet aggregometer. Validated specifically for platelet aggregation, it provides standardized, repeatable samples of PRP in 30 seconds, PPP in 120 seconds, and PFP in 180 seconds.

Together, the PAP-8E, platelet aggregometer and the PDQ, Platelet Function Centrifuge can provide test results in less time than it takes for other LTA or whole blood systems.

PAP-8E

Platelet Aggregation Profiler

C/N 106075 (Domestic), C/N 106077 (Export)

The PAP-8E is a PC-controlled, 8 channel Platelet Aggregometer. The touch screen operation, on-screen procedure templates, and test menu make the PAP-8E easy to use. Eight test channels accommodate multipoint standard curves and patients in a single run, multiple patients with a single agonist, or a single patient with multiple agonists or dilutions. Now ships with V2 Software. Customers with older Pap-8 models may contact customer service to inquire about  P/N 107125 V2 upgrade.

Product Overview

The PAP-8E Platelet Aggregometer is the world’s most advanced aggregometer for laboratory applications. It has on screen timers and audible alarms which free the operator to perform other tasks during incubation and test sequences. Standard micro-volume quantities reduce sample and reagent consumption.

Agonist induced procedure templates are preprogrammed for many tests. Templates assure that tests are performed the same way, time after time.

The PAP-8E offers an enhanced Ristocetin CoFactor Assay. Along with providing templates for the standard 3-point (100%, 50%, 25%) reference curve, the PAP-8E offers two user selectable 4-point reference curve templates. One 4-point (100%, 50%, 25%, 12.5%) template may be used to extend the range of the assay below 25% activity. The other 4-point (100%, 80%, 40%, 20%) template provides optional methodology for investigational purposes only.

Aggregation Reagents

Bio/Data Corporation offers a complete line of aggregation reagents and has always been committed to delivering accurate and repeatable results for the clinicians and researchers that we serve. Our aggregation reagents are used to identify normal and abnormal platelet function, to quantitate platelet activity and to determine the patient’s response to anit-platelet drug therapy. Our reagents are also used for performing  Ristocetin CoFactor Assays to evaluate and confirm problems with von Willebrand factor (vWF).

Our reagents are designed to optimize test performance and are manufactured with the highest standards and quality control to ensure your complete satisfaction. Please refer to our Quality Systems and Standards for more information on how we ensure that our products meet the most stringent standards.

Von Willebrand Factor (5)

Von Willebrand disease (vWD) is one of the most common inherited bleeding disorders. In recent years, there have been major advances in our understanding of vWD, which is caused by quantitative and/or qualitative problems with von Willebrand factor (vWF)…

PDQ®

PDQ®

Platelet Function Centrifuge — C/N 106842

The new PDQ, Platelet Function Centrifuge, dedicated solely to the standardization of platelet sample preparation, reduces process time to five minutes. Platelet Rich Plasma is available in just 30 seconds, Platelet Poor Plasma in 120 seconds and Platelet Free Plasma in 180 seconds.

Product Overview

The PDQ is optimized for consistent sample quality, the three process cycles offer greater control and sample precision without any measurable platelet activation. The PDQ has been validated for platelet function testing, and carries the CE mark for distribution in the European Union.

The PDQ accepts evacuated specimen collection and aliquot tubes, and may be used as a companion to any light transmission aggregometer engaged in platelet function testing. The four position, personal size centrifuge, is only seven inches in diameter… is quiet and vibration free. The primary purpose of the PDQ is to centralize the sample preparation process adjacent to the platelet aggregometer for specimen control standardization and greater time efficiency.
