Tristel Duo OPH

Tristel Duo OPH is chlorine dioxide in a foam, designed specifically for the high-level disinfection of ophthalmic medical devices.

Tristel Duo OPH incorporates two separate compartments that contain Tristel Base solution (citric acid) and Tristel Activator solution (sodium chlorite). When mixed upon pressing the foam pump, Tristel’s proprietary chlorine dioxide chemistry is generated.

Tristel Duo OPH is CE marked as a Class IIa Medical Device.

Microbiological Efficacy

Tristel Duo OPH is sporicidal, mycobactericidal, virucidal, fungicidal and bactericidal. It has been tested in accredited laboratories worldwide and is proven effective against a wide range of microorganims such as:

  • Acanthamoeba castellanii (one of the causative organisms of Acanthamoeba keratitis)
  • Pseudomonas aeruginosa
  • Carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae (CRE)
  • Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium (VRE)
  • Candida albicans
  • Aspergillus brasiliensis 
  • Adenovirus
  • Herpes Simplex Virus

Duo OPH is also proven effective at denaturing DNA and RNA.

  • Tonometer prisms
  • Ophthalmic ultrasound probes, including (but not limited to) A-scan and B-scan ultrasound probes
  • Pachymeters

Product Option and Accessories

Tristel Duo OPH is available in six unique dual-compartment foam bottles per box. Each bottle contains 125ml Tristel Base solution and 125ml Tristel Activator solution. Each bottle provides 310 doses.


Duo Wipes are designed specifically to apply Tristel Duo foam evenly onto a surface to be disinfected. They are made of a non-woven material and are low-linting to reduce residue of fibres on surfaces. Duo Wipes are pre-cut to prevent shedding when dispensed from the tub. The use of Duo Wipes enhances cleaning and disinfection performance by allowing effective release of the liquid disinfectant onto the surface.
